Thoughts After A Funeral

This summer I have been to two funerals. A lot of people have died this past year-many in the news. Over the years I have been to non-believer’s funerals and believer’s funerals. What a huge difference-hope vs. hopeless, eternal life vs. eternal death, joy vs. sorrow, heaven vs. hell. Life can be so busy at times-we let it get that way-but when it all boils down to what matters most, it comes to ONE thing. Do I know Christ? Life apart from Jesus is nothing-it means nothing and is useless. We were created to live for and worship God. Sin destroyed that-our sin, my sin. By God’s grace there is hope. The cross is my hope-Jesus Christ who died for me is my hope. Funerals have a wonderful way of bringing you to the reality man tries to forget, the reality of death. We all will die. We may not know when or how but know in our hearts it will happen. Examine your heart, constantly, and pray for God’s mercy to help you see the Truth.  He is the ONE reason we are alive and can live forever. As believers, what a great hope we have in Christ and heaven!

A Weekend Away

I realized this morning that it is only a short time before our family of three grows into a family of four! It is so exciting and yet with any change, a little sad I guess. God allowed us to experience His timing first hand in trying to have our second baby. With that, we have been able to enjoy time with Maddie in ways we wouldn’t have if things went according to our plans. One recent blessing was being able to go on a little vacation to Palm Springs and enjoy time together as a family. We stayed at Rancho Las Palmas-a very family friendly resort…I was planning on taking pictures, but was so caught up in having a good time and enjoying being with Rusty and Maddie that I didn’t get around to it…here are some pictures we took with Rusty’s I-Phone. ENJOY!

While we were in Palm Springs we got to meet up with my cousin Natalie and her daughter Riana. Maddie and Riana had such fun playing together. The second day we were there we went to a local children’s museum and got to discover such fun things!

Riding a real police motorcycle…so neat, everything at the museum has been donated!

A Look Back…

It is amazing to look at pictures that were taken just under 2 years ago and see how much Maddie has changed. It is also amazing how I EVER carried her around…she was so huge! =) Here are 3 pics from her 1st birthday…Maddie has been asking when her birthday is coming…she was sitting on the couch last night and I asked what she was doing…her response, “I’m waiting for my birthday”! Too cute! She’ll be waiting for a few more months! =) ENJOY…
